14
-1) Nucleus (City Hall) -Control center
15
2) Cell Membrane (City Limits) -Controls what goes in and out of the cell (or city)
16
3) Endoplasmic Reticulum (Delivery Van) Delivers proteins from the ribosomes around the cell (transports us around the city)
17
4) Ribosomes (Construction company) -Ribsomes manufacture (construct) proteins Construction companies construct things around the city
18
5) Nucleolus (City Planning Office) It plans what makes up the proteins The City Planning Office plans what will go on in the city
19
6) Cytoplasm (Road Systems) Allows materials to travel through the cell (or road system allows us to travel through the roads)
20
7) Mitrochondria = Power Company -Supplies energy for the cell Power company supplies energy for the city
21
8) Chromosomes = City Auditor Chromosomes hold our genetic information (what we will be like) and we pass it on City Auditor – holds onto city records and passes them on as city grows
22
9) Chloroplast = Solar Energy Provides energy from sun to produce sugars (photosynthesis) Solar energy uses sun’s energy to produce power for the city
23
10) Lysosomes = Food Processing Plant Breaks down parts in our body / breaks down food/materials not needed in cells In a processing plant they break down and recycle food
24
11) Vacuole = Warehouse Because it stores materials
