Wolves’ animal group is a mammal. This animals scientific name is Canis Lupus. The gray wolf can live up to 17 years.

Physical Characteristics The color of the gray wolf is gray, brown, tan, and white. Its bodies are 3 to 5 inches long, its tails are 13 to 20 inches long, and its shoulders are 26 to 38 inches high. Wolves outer covering is a fur coat. A wolf’s jaws have pressure over 550 pounds, twice the power of a full grown German Shepard.

Wolves live in North America, Europe, Africa, Alaska, Greenland, and China. Gray wolves live in different climates there climates are snow filled and forests.

The wolf will eat about anything meat, from small rodents to large hoofed animals. When a wolf goes hunting it will hunt in a pack and track food by scent. A wolf gives birth to live young. Wolves normally have 5 to 6 babies

When born, wolves eyes are gray but over 16 weeks its eyes turn yellow. Wolves are the largest known member of the canine family. Some games that wolves play, humans play too.
