UCIT - Background A Charity and a Social Enterprise lending money where others don’t Ulster Community Investment Trust (UCIT) was established as the first social investment fund in Ireland The ambition was and remains to help stimulate economic growth and job opportunities in areas of deprivation and high unemployment The social dividend ranks alongside the financial dividend Supporters included Government, International Fund for Ireland and Philanthropies Our aim is to work with communities, voluntary organisations and those in the margins of society, where conventional banking doesn’t happen.
