4 HISTORY 1921: Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist, Psychological Types appears in English translation 1923: Katherine Briggs and Isabel Myers began to study the concept of individual differences and “type watch” 1957: Educational Testing Service decided to publish the MBTI instrument (ongoing college-student study) 1970: Introduction to Type released to explain MBTI instrument validity and reliability 1988: CPP reported over 2,000,000,000 MBTI sold and translated worldwide 2008: Carrie Roberson completes MBTI Certification Program (92.5%) and given certification to administer and interpret MBTI!
