2. The Aerial Video Survey Program has been acquiring photography and video of the northern Gulf of Mexico shoreline since 1984. Oblique aerial photography does not produce exact matches due to variations in altitude, camera angle and distance from the shore (and different photographers). Photos that lined up well were scaled and aligned to illustrate the landscape changes that have taken place between time periods. Occasionally a pointer or symbol was added to assist with the visual comparison. 15. Relevant Coastal Restoration Projects  Holly Beach. State Project Number: CS-01  Project Priority List (PPL): N/A Project Type: Shoreline Protection Construction Completion Date: 1994 Description: The objective of this project is to protect the marsh north of the Gulf of Mexico shoreline by expanding shoreline protection in phases from Ocean View, Louisiana to the east near Calcasieu Pass. A total of 34 breakwaters were constructed in 1991, 21 breakwaters were constructed in 1992, 21 breakwaters were constructed in 1993, and nine breakwaters were constructed in 1994 between Calcasieu Pass and Holly Beach, Louisiana. Eighteen of the existing breakwaters were raised and/or extended in 2003 utilizing marine mattress foundations and armor stone.  Holly Beach Sand Management. This objective was accomplished through beach renourishment, installation of sand fencing, vegetation plantings, and monitoring of the shoreline response.
