1 Teacher Page Objective: The student will compare the ways people satisfy their basic needs through the production of goods and services such as subsistence agriculture versus commercial agriculture or cottage industry versus commercial industry. Ideas / Suggestions / Notes Optional Lesson Formats: You can use the picture slides to take notes on a tree map (optional template provided) Use the presentation to allow students to formulate their own definitions, then they must allow a peer to critique their definitions and make changes if necessary. (Organizer sheet is provided) Use the presentation as review and allow students to go through the production process of a traditional and industrial economy (Example Template sheets are provided). This could be a front and back assignment or put students in pairs and have them compare information. These could be used in combination with each other or independently as the teacher feels the class needs. EOC Suggestions: It is likely that these terms will be assessed as prior knowledge. The performance expectation of the question is to compare. The appliacation of the information is the key, not the defintiion. Make them use the definitions in some format, no matter how you choose to do the assignment.
