3 Hanukkah Hanukkah (also known as Chanukah) is the Jewish Festival of Lights and lasts eight days. It usually falls in late November or December. Hanukkah means "dedication". Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah by lighting the Menorah. The Menorah represents the battle against a king named Antiochus to win their freedom of religion. They light one candle a day on the Menorah to remember each day that was fought during the battle. Click on the picture to make your own Menorah!

4 Hanukkah Toys! There are four letters which appear on the four corners of a dreidel. The letters do not look the same as we are used to because they are in Jewish instead of English. They spell out: Nes (N-miracle), Gadol (G-great), Haya (H-happened) and Sham (S-there, meaning in Israel). Click on the dreidel to see how to play the game! Dreidel

5 Playing the dreidel game is easy. First you need friends to play with and a bunch of candy! Everyone needs to sit in a circle and then each friend needs ten pieces of candy. After everyone has their candy, each person then puts one of their pieces in the middle of the circle. Next, each person spins the dreidel like a top and play like the disappearing train game. Here’s the rules: Nun means nothing, which means zero. Gimmel means everything, which means you get all the candy in the center. Hey means half, which means you take half of the candy in the center. If there is an odd number, you'll take half plus one. Shin means put in, which means that you add a piece to the center.

6 Kwanzaa Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated by some African Americans that lasts seven-days! Kwanzaa was created by a man named Ron Karenga to celebrate the memories of the civil rights movement and freedom.
