2 The Arts and Crafts style houses where invented in the 1880’s by brothers Charles Summer Greene and Henry Mathew Greene. This style house originated in England. The History

3 These houses were invented during the Arts and Crafts Movement which encouraged people to use simple forms and natural material. Arts and Crafts houses are usually built in England or the United States.

4 Information Typically 1-3 stories Made with wood, stone, or stucco siding Built in cabinets, shelving, and seating Dark wood wainscoting and moldings Built in places where there is a lot of open space Residential housing Uses vertical lines for columns Has two balanced colors a lot of the time

5 Low pitch roof Porch with square or round columns Open floors with few hallways A lot of windows Exposed roof rafters Beamed ceilings Focuses on nature and craftsmanship Features
