Place Since 1901, the Nobel Prizes have been presented to the Laureates at ceremonies on 10 December The Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden, while the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway. Since 1969 an additional prize has been awarded at the ceremony in Stockholm.

Alfred Nobel, spent his final years in San Remo, Italy, where he died on 10 December 1896. Every year the City of San Remo sends flowers for decoration at the Nobel Prize Award Cermony and the Nobel Banquet. Shown is the bust of Alfred Nobel adorned with some of the 13,000 flowers at the Concert Hall, Stockholm.

In 1968, Sveriges Riksbank established The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Each prize consists of a medal, a personal diploma, and a cash award.

Medal The medals for Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature were modeled by the Swedish sculptor and engraver Erik Lindberg and the Peace medal by the Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland. The medal for The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel was designed by Gunvor Svensson-Lundqvist.
