Relationships Among Organisms – Choice Assignment: Complete on p. 10 of your science notebook.  Level 1 – Vocabulary Pictures: Choose level 1 if the vocabulary words are very new to you or you just don’t know them well:  For each vocabulary word you didn’t know, read the definition for the word and draw a picture that will help you remember what the word means. Example: Organism – draw a picture of a beetle; Population – draw a picture of a group of the same kind of beetles.   Level 2 – Brainstorm: For each of the relationships among organisms vocabulary words, brainstorm a list organisms or places common in Minnesota that match each vocabulary word.   Level 3 – Comic Strip: Use as many of the relationships among organisms vocabulary words as you can to create a comic strip that explains what the vocabulary words mean. Focus on the words that you’re least familiar with first.   Level 3 – Song, Rap, or Poem: Use as many of the relationships among organisms vocabulary words as you can to write a song, rap, or poem that would help a third grader understand what the vocabulary words mean.
