Be Reconciled
2
Reconciliation Needed Without sin present mankind and God are always together (Gen. 1:26; 2:7ff) The Devil seeks to divide and separate through sin (Gen. 3; Isa. 59:1-2; Jas. 4:4) Reconciliation literally means “to change, exchange; to change from enmity to friendship” (Gr. katallasso)
3
Reconciliation Jew to Gentile (Eph. 2:16) Brother to Brother (Mt. 5:24; Gen. 33:4) Husband to Wife (1 Cor. 7:11) Mankind to God (Rom 5:10-11; 11:5; Col. 1:20-21)
4
Reconciliation Conditions A party willing to repent and come back A party willing to forgive and receive back A way and means for reconciliation to take place: the blood of Christ and the gospel ( 2 Cor. 5:18-21)
5
Reconciliation Today True reconciliation is needed, not of the hypocritical kind (Lk. :23:11-12) Life is short … judgment is certain … be reconciled today (2 Cor. 6:1) To remain at enmity with others and with God is the easy way, but is it worth it to lose your soul over? Pay the price for reconciliation (peace)!
