Unknown Solids Lab Observation Sheet √ Physical Properties Materials: 5 solids (A, B, C, D, E)scoopula glass square Procedure: 1. Using a scoopula, transfer a small amount of Solid A to the glass square 2. Observe color, odor and texture. 3. Record observations. 4. Clean glass square. 5. Repeat steps 1- 4 for the other solids. Unknown Solids Lab √ Liquid Test Procedure: 1. Transfer 3 small amounts (piles) of Solid A to the glass square using a scoopula. Materials: Solids A, B, C, D, Eglass square Liquids 1, 2, 3scoopula 2. Add 2 drops of Liquid 1 to 1 amount of Solid A. Repeat for other Liquids on other amounts of Solid A. 3. Record observations including color. 4. Clean glass plate. 5. Transfer a small amount of Solid A into an aluminum foil-lined crucible. 2. Set the crucible in a clay triangle that is on an iron ring attached to a ring stand. 3. Heat for about 45 seconds. 4. Record observations. 5. Remove foil liner and replace with a new one containing a small amount of Solid B. 6. Repeat heatings for remaining Solids and record observations.
