contributions Seeger had always had strong views about the environment, and in 1965 had begun writing songs about the Hudson River, including Sailing Down My Dirty Stream. He got the idea to build a giant sloop and travel the Hudson River, drawing the public’s attention to the polluted condition of the river. To get the money to build the sloop, the Seegers and others in the Hudson Valley Sloop Restoration attended cocktail parties and other social functions and hit up the wealthy for contributions. Between social functions and fundraising concerts, Seeger helped out with construction at the shipyard in Maine.

More contributions wrote songs such as God Bless the Grass and Waist Deep in the Big Muddy which increased awareness of the environmental pollution wrote an autobiography Where Have All the Flowers Gone? This book talks about his views on the environment as well as others such as war and civil rights.

significance Peter Seeger used his platform in folk music to show the world how disgusting it's becoming. He really helped with the Hudson River's pollution in teaming up with Clearwater. He shows it only takes one person it make a small difference, and together our small differences can add up to make huge differences in the health of the earth.

How he fits into study He saw the pollution in the world. We learn about pollution and the effects it has on the earth. However, its a give and take with pollution. We cause pollution because we don't want to give up other things such as cheap electricity. Peter Sneeger taught people they should give up their convenient devices in order to save the environment.
