Personal Review Understanding that the ground can become energized is important. The distances vary based on the soil type and the minerals within it. Maintain a minimum of 30 circle of safety and 100 feet involving high voltage transmission lines Strive to achieve a minimum distance of two utility poles when arriving with apparatus to a call. Never place any metal aerial ladder within 10 feet of any overhead power lines
