3. World vision in china World Vision has carried out emergency relief work in China since 1982. In 2010, World Vision Hong Kong supported 98 relief and development projects, benefiting over 3.57 million people, of which 63 projects are funded by World Vision China Partners, benefiting approximately 780,000 people. 4. World Vision of Macau Association World Vision began helping orphans in Macau as early as the 1960s. In 1991, World Vision started raising funds for local and overseas emergency relief, including the Fai Chi Kei Fire Disaster of Macau, the Bangladesh Cyclone Relief and the Eastern China Flood Relief. World Vision of Macau Association was officially established in 1993 to further mobilize the people of Macau to care for the needy and to donate in support of World Vision’s relief work around the world. It also organizes famine activities and school talks to raise public awareness about the needs of developing countries.

5. Famine Campaigns Famine Campaign is one of the most popular activities which is held annually by World Vision Macau. Many social institutions, corporations, schools and individuals are enthusiastic to join this activity. Skip a Meal/ Have a Light Meal The Famine Campaigns can help the people who suffer severe starvation in East Africa simply by encouraging participants to donate the money saved from skipping a meal, or having a light meal, to help the hungry in East Africa. Through skipping a meal or having a light meal, participants can find out what hunger is like. Public Education The World Vision Macau provide different kind of activities to enhance the public’s concern about global issues of poverty and development, and care for the needy.
