Plan the necessary actions for improvement ◦ What is being changed? ◦ What is being improved? ◦ What is being measured to determine the effectiveness of the solution? Before and after pictures are a great way to show visible improvements

Implement the planned changes ◦ How were the improvements made? Were the changes consistent with the plan? ◦ Was it tested on a small scale or trial basis first? If so, how? Other useful and interesting graphics can include floor plans and flowcharts

Check or study the results of the changes ◦ What were the measurable results of the changes? ◦ Did the situation improve, get worse, or stay the same after changes were made? Provide concrete results. Can they be put into a chart, graph, or table?

Systematically implement successful changes ◦ What processes were put in place to ensure that the positive results are sustained? ◦ Can the changes be implemented on a larger scale to get better results in other areas? Has your team created a best practice? Are you spreading the word and process?
