Civil war occurred on April 12 th 1861 and it lasted all of four years. Ended on April 9 th 1865.

Fort Sumter- first battle April 12 First battle of Bull run- July 21 1861 Battle of Gettysburg- July 1 st 1863 2 nd battle of Fort Fisher Battle of Appomattox court house

The union states-north Ex. New York Border states- Kentucky, Missouri, Maryland, Delaware, west Virginia. The confederate states- south Ex. North Carolina Americans vs. Americans

States in the union are Oregon, California, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine. Union consists of northern states Abraham Lincoln was with the union.

Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, south Carolina, north Carolina. A Leader was Jefferson Davis. ALLIANES- Britain and France they were with the confederacy.

Saber- this was used through the whole civil war. They were super dangerous. This was a sharp sword that the soldiers used. Muskets- considered a small arm because it could be carried by hand. Smooth long barreled shoulder arm. Napoleon- used in 1857 it was 12ib weapon. Smooth muzzle loading Minnie ball- used in 1848 half inch riffle bullet.

The civil war affect us in many ways President Lincoln was assonated because of it. less slavery now because of the civil war Americans vs. Americans. Many men died fighting and the worst part was it was Americans vs. Americans.

April 9th 1865 Grant offered a surrender and the war ended in Appomattox county. Many men died The north won because of a surrender

Clara Barton tended to wounded soldiers in the civil war and was considered an angel to those hungry and wounded soldiers. She kept everything nice and organized and sanitary! After the civil war president Abraham Lincoln was shot and assassinated by a man that was upset the north had won. Slaves were free and slavery was abolished April 18 effectively ends the Civil War.
