3 12/13/053 POG Charter The SIS Project Oversight Group is responsible for making recommendations to CEC on the overall SIS Project including several key, strategic issues. –The POG was formed with representation from each college but will also garner input from other resources at their colleges –The primary mechanism for making recommendations will be the consideration of Strategic Issue Assessments developed for the POG

4 12/13/054 Leadership Model How will project become “User–Driven” not “IT-Driven”? The POG and tri-chairs will consider strategic issues and make recommendations on them to CEC A POG member will be designated as the User Project Manager User PM and ITS PM together will direct the project CIT will continue working on the project to accomplish the goals and deliverables decided by the project leadership User PM and ITS PM will work closely together to ensure adequate college/user participation and to gather information to support the POG in making decisions.

5 12/13/055 Strategic Issue Assessments ‘Strategic Issue Assessments’ will be developed for strategic issues being considered by the POG –SIA’s developed at the request of the POG with input from SIS Project team, CIT, consultants, and others –SIA’s would include options and an approach to considering the issue that involved adequate project & user representation –The User PM would coordinate any required action and the ultimate consideration of the issue by the POG –The POG would make a final recommendation and forward to CEC

6 12/13/056 Strategic Issues 1.Scope – Push forward as-is or with minor modifications Open up functionality, scope, & approach 2.Which Version – 8.0 or 8.9? 3.Which DB – Oracle or SQL Server? 4.Helpdesk/Support Model 5.New Date for Go-Live

7 12/13/057 3 Potential Go-Live Scenarios 1.Fast Implementation – Limit scope, keep current architecture, push to earliest date 2.Moderate Delay – Review and make moderate changes in functionality and new architecture including 8.9 & Oracle DB 3.Redesign – Start over with open approach to scope, architecture, and project structure

8 12/13/058 Consulting Update Proposing a CedarCrestone combined team –Functional –Technical –Project Management Need a decision on this engagement Will also consider strategic issues (SIAs) Tentatively, will organize this month and execute next month

9 12/13/059 Next Steps Identification of the User Project Manager Development of initial SIA’s Engage with Consultants Presentation at CEC retreat – 1/25/06 Budgets - Short-term & Long-term
