Five solas Solo ChristoSolo Christo Soli Deo GloriaSoli Deo Gloria Sola FideSola Fide Sola GratiaSola Gratia Sola ScripturaSola Scriptura

Solo Christo “Christ alone” Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man, and that there is salvation through no other. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 1 Timothy 2:5, 6

Soli Deo gloria "glory to God alone" all glory is to be due to God alone, since salvation is accomplished solely through His will and action — not only the gift of the all-sufficient atonement of Jesus on the cross but also the gift of faith in that atonement, created in the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1Peter 5:10 – 11

Sola fide Justification is receive by faith only, without any mixture of works, though saving faith is always evidenced, but not determined, by good works. “by faith alone” Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

Sola gratia “by grace alone” Salvation comes by God’s grace or "unmerited favor" only — not as something merited by the sinner. This means that salvation is an unearned gift from God for Jesus' sake. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10

Sola Scriptura “by Scripture alone” The Bible is the only inspired authoritative Word of God, is the only source for Christian doctrine, and is accessible to all meaning that it is perspicuous (clearly expressed and clearly understood) and self- interpreting. It requires no interpretation outside of itself. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

Jeremiah 31:21 Jeremiah 31:21 “Set up signposts, Make landmarks; Set your heart toward the highway, The way in which you went. “Set up signposts, Make landmarks; Set your heart toward the highway, The way in which you went. Turn back, O virgin of Israel, Turn back to these your cities. Turn back, O virgin of Israel, Turn back to these your cities.
