1
Possible cooperation with YKA, Bahrain in oil recovery of AGAS´s oil pit
2
The challenge 560,000 m2 area 840,000 m3 sand 1,700,000 tones 10% estimated average oil in sand = 1 mill barrels 335,000 tones of carbon Sand to be remediated to < 1w% hydro carbons Sand to be almost of natural color Time?

Results from Canadian oil sand
4
Total investments About USD 45 mill in plants and material handling equipment for 6 TarBlasters with a capacity of 10 t/hr
5
Economics one TarBlaster unit
6
Economics entire project
7
TarBlaster operation The following main activities are involved in Tarblaster operation: Excavating of sand Preparation of sand – shredding and mixture of x% hot sand from the plant Transport of sand to the hopper and injection into the reactor Stripping of oil in fluidizer Regenerating of sand in the regenerator and discharge to receiver Oil from oil condenser to oil centrifuge and to holding tank Water from steam condenser to water centrifuge, light oil to holding tank and water to drain Non-condensable gasses vented through electrostatic precipitator and to air

Proposed actions We propose the following actions to take place: Testing of about 100 kg of sand at SINTEF ENERGY RESEARCH in Trondheim, Norway in order to obtain actual thermodynamic data for the sand in question Costs: About USD 35,000.- Engineering and construction of first plant with a capacity of 1,000 kg/hr in order to settle the optimal size for the project in question Costs: About USD 5 mill. Engineering and construction of full scale plants Initial calculations indicate remediation costs of about USD 150 - 200 per ton.
