2. Downloading and Installing the Java Runtime Environment The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.5 or higher is required to launch an Elluminate Live! session. On the Macintosh, it is pre-installed and automatically updated. For the other operating systems, you will need to download it from the Elluminate Support website (http://www.elluminate.com/support) or the Sun Microsystems website http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) and install it.http://www.elluminate.com/supporthttp://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Installation of the Java Runtime Environment is a one-time process that does not need to be repeated. The download can take up to 40 minutes on a 28.8K modem (or less depending on the speed of your Internet connection). Please ensure that you allow sufficient time to complete the download and installation before your first session.
