Job: Paid position involving a specific place, time, and tasks set by an employer ○ Often temporary Occupation: Group of related tasks that require special training, education, or experience to learn a specific set of skills Career: Lifetime work history or a long-term participation in a particular field of expertise

4 A Career or Job?  Jobs are chosen based on location and pay Fulfills needs now  Careers affect all aspects of your life: Fulfills needs now and in the future People who enjoy their careers have more satisfied lives
