4 UCI SCAMP Scholarly communication is a campus-wide issue Programmatic infrastructure for ongoing activities Scholarly Communication & Management Program (SCAMP) = coordinated by UC Irvine Libraries http://www.lib.uci.edu/scamp/home.html Launched 2004. Endorsed by Executive Vice Chancellor/Provost

5 UCI SCAMP Planning group: Carol Hughes (AUL Public Services), Lorelei Tanji (AUL Collections), Julia Gelfand (Research Librarian Applied Sciences), and Mitchell Brown (Research Librarian for Chemistry, Earth System Science, Russian). Involves 20+ research librarians who have direct faculty/student liaison responsibilities to academic programs and research centers on campus.

Partnering with the UCI Office of Research to answer questions & provide workshops on steps for complying with the NIH Open Access Policy Will be partnering in the 2008 ARL Study of Emerging New Model Publications
