What is dual enrollment?

How is it implemented? IBL – Inquiry Based Learning Not a lecture class Immersion in Math Open discussion and exchange of ideas Mature understanding of divergent viewpoints Think critically about controversial issues

How is grade determined? College GradeHigh School Grade 90% - Tests Fall – 3 exams Spring – 4 exams Test grades -75% online, 25% free response scanned and graded by college professor 70% - Summative Grades Tests and quizzes A total of 3 grades per full 6 week terms. College exams will be included as well as tests and quizzes created by high school teacher 10% Explorations completed in class- graded by high school teacher and sent to the college professor 30% Formative Grades Daily grades Explorations – 3 per term Exploration presentation – 1 per term Completion of all explorations – 1/term Homework – minimum of 2 per term

College Credit If the student has an average of 75 at the end of fall semester Or if the student satisfies the TSI, Texas Success Initiative Student may enroll in the college class in January. (Students that do not enroll in the college class in the spring remain in the class and complete the class for high school credit.)

FERPA Once a student reaches 18 years of age or attends a postsecondary institution, he or she becomes an "eligible student," and all rights formerly given to parents under FERPA transfer to the student. Student’s college information will not be shared with anyone other than the student.

Academic Dishonesty All accusations of academic dishonesty will be investigated by the University. Confirmed incidents of academic dishonesty will result in a college file that will be maintained for 7 years.
