TSW use the STAAR rubric to revise and edit a short answer response. ADD THIS LIST OF “DON’Ts” TO YOUR NOTES! 1.NEVER EVER write in 2 nd person point of view. (you, your, you’re) 2.NEVER EVER write a short answer response in 1 st person point of view. Leave yourself out of the response! The graders don’t care what you think, feel, etc. Stay with facts. 3.Do not keep saying the same thing over and over. Remember, you need an assertion, text evidence, and explanation. Add this list of “DO” in your notes- 1.Always put a title on your paper. 2.Always underline the title of books, put quotation marks around stories, songs, poems, etc. 3.Name the piece of literature and the author. 4.Use two examples of text evidence. 5.Your analysis should be the longest part of your short answer response. 6.Write in complete sentences. 7.Use capitalization rules!
