4 Activities Program Launching Ceremony: 7 th April 2009 Targeted audience: representatives of the press, other stakeholders and decision-makers. Objectives: To announce the formal launch of the program and publicize its aims and activities Results: - More than 100 participants - Widely broadcasting of the project on numerous websites, newspapers, television

5 Activities (continued): Start-up workshop: 10 th June 2009 Targeted audience: Project Steering Committee (PSC), SRD, project team, and support NGOs including representatives from the North, Central and the South Objectives: - To introduce the aims and modalities of the project to potential beneficiaries and other stakeholders - To gather information on their capacity-building priorities and potential to contribute to the project

6 Activities (continued): Start-up workshop: 10 th June 2009 (continued) Expected results: - Stakeholders will understand clearly the project, its objectives, its proposed activities, and the criteria for participation in those activities. - Potential beneficiaries and contributors will be identified from among the assembled stakeholders. - The specific capacity building needs and priorities of civil society organizations participating in the workshop will be identified. - Potential material and human resource contributions from stakeholder organizations will be identified, including possible linkages with other climate change or capacity- building activities.

8 Activities (continued): Improve the Climate Change Working Group Website First year: - Updating and providing informationon CC adaptation, mitigation projects and programs, best practice policy and applied case-studies - Redesigning and improving the CCWG website to be user-friendly - Promoting the link with other current climate change websites

9 Activities (continued): Improve the Climate Change Working Group Website Second year: - Introduce of online forums Members: o VNGOs o Other civil society organizations o Climate change experts - Contents: To discuss, ask questions, communicate among the members.

10 Activities (continued): Produce 30 issues of E-bulletins and 10 Newsletters on Climate Change E-bulletin - Publication: Monthly - Contain: Latest information on CC issues in Vietnam Information on project implementation and plan

11 Activities (continued): Produce 30 issues of E-bulletins and 10 Newsletters on Climate Change Newsletter: 500 copies - Pubclication: Quarterly - Targeted audience: Members of the mailing lists (compiled by project) People with limited access to internet

12 Activities (continued): Create databases and awareness-raising and promotional materials Database on current climate change activities in Vietnam; Database of climate change experts willing to contribute knowledge and time; Database of organizations that provide training related to climate change Database of donors and funding opportunities Database of participants to training and learning events provided by the project under components 2 and 3.

13 Activities (continued): Promote awareness of climate change issues and program activities Develop and print a brochure - To introduce the objectives and goals of the Capacity Building Program - To provide information of the opportunities for training to local beneficiaries Collect and share materials  Actively work with the media to disseminate the contents of these documents and to promote climate change related issues and events, strengthening knowledge among the general public.

14 Activities (continued): Hold Coordination Meetings Monthly meetings: - Members: the support agencies, project staff, SRD - Objectives: to discuss the work planthe work plan for the coming month and review activities carried during the past month. - Results of the monthly meetings will be documented and inform to PSC.

15 Activities (continued): Hold Coordination Meetings Quarterly meetings: - Members: PSC members - Objectives: -To review the activities of the past quarter and approve the plan for the coming quarter; -To discuss and make decision on the issues raised during the monthly coordination meetings.

16 Activities (continued): Hold Coordination Meetings Annual meetings: - Members: PSC members, Government officers from MONRE and MARD - Objectives: To exchange the prioritized needs or messages identified during the project implementation To be informed about the updated information from the Government on the issues that the project is working on (e.g. adaptation and CDM).  Expectation: The attendance of such officials will also provide an opportunity for advocacy and coordination between the program and the government.
