Our project’s goal was to create a device that would pull the trigger to make the remote control car accelerate. We found most of our wood and used some supplies from Estabrook such as duck tape, superglue, and nails. Our other expenses included marbles, funnels, and a remote control car.

First of all, we begin by releasing a golf ball down a series of ramps. It then goes into a funnel, where it makes its way to the bottom to set off a mouse trap. Attached to the mousetrap is a string that releases another marble. This marble then makes its way to another funnel, where it sets off another mouse trap. This pulls the string, which pulls the trigger of the car. The car then accelerates.

The building of our project took approximately five hours and was worked on by all four of our team members. More time was used in planning out the project. We encountered some problems: The ball not falling our of the funnel properly The mouse trap not setting off the trigger We overcame these problems and now have a successful Rube Goldberg project.
