Your Future Roles As a Leader A facilitator is someone who assists, guides, and supervises others in order to reach a desired outcome. The facilitator may delegate responsibilities to empower others to become leaders. A change agent is someone who makes meaningful changes that adds value to a group or an organization.

Coaching Techniques Coaching involves teaching, motivating, directing, and encouraging others to reach their potential. Coaching techniques take mentoring to a much higher level. Emphasis on Character Qualities A greater emphasis on character qualities, such as ethics, honesty, integrity, caring, self-discipline, and forward-thinking, is also becoming a trend. Future trends in the workplace should be exciting to future leaders who are willing and eager to accept the challenges of a rapidly changing, high-tech and service- oriented workplace.

Meeting the Employment Needs of the Future What are the best jobs of the future? Can you find a job that meets your personal goals and interests, utilizes your skills and educational preparation, and offers good prospects for future employment? Most career areas offer a variety of opportunities with entry level jobs right out of high school and advanced, high-skilled jobs requiring additional education and experience.

Benefits of optimism Optimistic people look to the future with anticipation and excitement. Optimism leads to positive health benefits, such as reduced stress and enhanced emotional well being. An optimistic attitude will contribute to greater success as you continue with your visionary leadership journey.

Cultural Competence U.S. workplaces have always been diverse. Diversity will increase with the employment of larger numbers of people from even more countries and cultures. Cultural competence is your ability to function effectively in a multicultural workplace and global community with people from other countries and cultures.
