Prepared by: Ayah Yasin SUPERVISOR Dr. HAFEZ SHAHEEN PROJECT 2 : FALL 2012-2013 Wastewater Collection system for Anin 1
2
OBJECTIVES In my project the following objectives have been achieved: 1. Contribute to solving the environmental problems in Anin village that is due to un-safe disposal of wastewater. 2. Design of a Wastewater collection system. 2
3
METHODOLOGY Identify the problem. Determine the objective. Collect data and drawings for study area. Collect data by report, questionnaires. Data analysis and processing using excel and AutoCAD programs. Model selection. Building the model. Sewer design(pipe diameter and length, nodes elevation and location). 3

Project 1: In the first part of the project I have collected the data that have been applied in the project, this data include: Water consumption : 100L/c/d. Average number of capita per family is 5.6 (PCBS). Current population is 4150. The disposal of wastewater in Anin is done by cesspits. 5
6
PROJECT 1: In this part, also, I have calculated the following data: Population growth rate:2.89. Future population:9450capita. Peak factor:3.04. the peak flow:3335 m 3 /d 6
7
PROJECT 1: I have determined the design determinants, this determinants are: design period :28 years (2012-2040). Wastewater production factor: 0.85. Formula have been used : Manning formula ( V=(1/n)*R 2/3 *S 1/2 ). The velocity in the range of 0.6-3 m/s. minimum pipe diameter :8 in (200mm). Infiltration rate :5% of peak flow. Manholes spacing between the range 30-100 m. 7
8
PROJECT 2: In the second part of the project I have designed the sewer network using SewerCAD program. The design steps are : calculating the load for each manhole using excel sheet, based on :using excel sheet 1. The population of the area which is equal the area multiplied by the village population density. 2. Find the population for the designed year using the following equation: Pn= P(1+ r)^n 8
9
PROJECT 2: Using the hourly peak factor 2, and daily peak factor 1.5. Determining the manholes location according to: Every change in the pipe size, grade, or alignment. The distance between manholes in my project do not exceed 50m. 9
