If your child says they liked learning about Native Americans-now it’s time to narrow the topic by asking more specific questions which will determine the discipline in which it will be judged. History: What is the origin of the first Native Americans? Geography: Where did the first Native Americans live? Political Science: What is the government policy concerning Native Americans? Economics: How did Native Americans earn a living? Anthropology: What are the customs of the Iroquois? Sociology: How did Native American tribes live together? How to decide on a discipline

Oral Presentation Speech must be 3 minutes long. No note cards are allowed. An additional 2 minutes will be used by the judges to ask questions. It helps to have a pointer of some sort during the oral presentation with the display. Integrate the display into the presentation. Keep eye contact with the judges. Dress neatly or in character. AVOID: Chewing gum Moving nervously Using note cards Standing in front of the project.

Display Requirements The title of the project must be displayed. No student name, teacher, or school. If you need to use an electrical outlet, please let us know when you register. It must fit within a space of 36 inches wide and 30 inches deep. It cannot weigh over 100 pounds or be taller than 100 inches. A research paper must accompany the display. Use attractive lettering and materials.
