Benefits –One ID and Password –Real Time Enrollment updates –Seamless access to major Web services –College integration rather than fragmentation Issues –System upgrades can cause problems –Network performance can cause slowdown –Data errors can be difficult to isolate –Team effort to make upgrades or changes

Reality Check Planned Event Driven by April 1 st –Put off until Fall due to upgrade to 7.0 Single Sign On by Summer 2006 –SCT staff accounts not available to Blackboard until Fall 2006 Success –Single ID on Blackboard –Modified Snapshot with Roles

Questions you should ask Is this the right thing to do? What expectations do your users have? What outcome measures are you using? Is this cutting edge or mainstream in academia? Do the benefits outweigh the challenges? Does anyone really care?
