1 Definition of Articulation A PLANNED PROCESS that links two or more educational institutions together to facilitate a smooth transition for STUDENTS to move from one COURSE, PROGRAM, or EDUCATIONAL LEVEL to the next.

2 Articulation Agreement b First defined in Perkins IV – 2006 b “Written commitment to a program designed to provide students with a non- duplicative sequence of progressive achievement leading to degrees or certificates in a Tech Prep Program.”

7 Credit by Exam Continued b Does the course meet the rigor and integrity of the course content at the receiving institution? b Faculty committees to determine when an examination “adequately measures mastery of the course content as set forth in the course outline of record”. b Is course evaluation based on measurable course objectives?

8 Articulation of High School Courses With Credit By Exam b Can be used to waive requirements b Can be used to partially satisfy certificate degree requirements b Must be noted as such on college transcript

9 Articulation of High School Courses Without Credit By Exam b May not be used toward any general education requirement for an associate degree b May not be used to fulfill the 60 semester units requirement to receive an associate degree.
