Did you Know? Ralph Sorrentino graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1958 He was voted Most Popular and Lady’s Man Here’s the pictures…

In High School, Ralph Sorrentino participated in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track. Mr. Sorrentino held the record for the most touchdowns in one year for 35 years!!

Mr. Sorrentino served as a student teacher at North Plainfield High School in 1964-1965

He served in a military camp in Georgia in 1965 In July 1966, because of ROTC, he entered the army as a Lieutenant

In Vietnam, he was promoted to Captain

Mr. Sorrentino received the Bronze Star Medal for his military service

In May 1967, he returned home from Vietnam After only three days home, he was offered a teaching job at North Plainfield High School

At North Plainfield High School, he taught… Physical Education Drivers’ Education Health Riflery and Bowling!

Students loved Mr. Sorrentino as a teacher. One student even wrote him a thank you note!

He also coached Football and Wrestling Here he is watching intently a NPHS game

At North Plainfield High School, he eventually became the Athletic Director Then he became our beloved Assistant Principal

Ralph Sorrentino’s Advice to Teachers: “ A teacher should aim to instill interest in the students by designing hands-on lessons, a variety of instructional activities, integrating technology, and attempting to help every child reach his or her potential.”
