Introduces students to electronic data processing systems and techniques in the context of organizational management information systems. Types of hardware and software for information needs and problem solving, source-document preparation, flow-charting and system design .

Learning objectives:
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
Thoroughly discuss methods of improving internal and external business processes using Information Technology
List and discuss current methods for building and maintaining Information Systems
Present methods an Information Services manager may use to recognize and respond to common system-related risks
Relate the role of the Information Services department to other departments within the company
Discuss how to motivate staff in an information-technology-based environment
Present upcoming trends in Information Technology and list the common methods of integrating these trends into current operations of product and service organizations
