3 Vocabulary  Unit rate: A ratio that has a denominator of 1  Unit rates are used to find information about a single item in a group  For example, if a dozen apples costs $4.00, how much does 1 apple cost?  The unit rate would be the cost of 1 apple © 2013 Meredith S. Moody 3
