Chapter 14.2 Color CPO Science Integrated Physics & Chemistry
4
Developing A Model What is Light? Why are there different colors of light? These are the wavelengths & frequencies of each color of light
5
Key Questions What is light & why are there different colors? How do different colors of light interact? How do we create colors for clothes, TV’s, printer’s etc…? How does the human eye work?
6
Developing An Experiment How can we create the three colors we are going to examine? —Color filters What are we going to test? —Different mixtures of the colors
7
Run The Experiment Tips : —The lights will not make perfect circles & it may be necessary to move one light closer or further from the paper —The colors will not be perfect.
8
What Did You Learn? What colors did the mixtures make? —Red + Green = Yellow —Green + Blue =cyan —Blue + Red = Magenta —Red + Blue + Green=White Answer Questions 2a&b in the Investigations Manual
9
Developing An Experiment How do you think the color filters work? Why are your clothes the colors they are? —Are they always that color? —What about crayons?
10
What Did You Learn? What do you notice about the light coming out of the filter compared to the white light? Answer Questions the questions in part 4 of the Investigations Manual What happened to your picture?
11
Summary How can three colors be responsible for all the colors we see? —How does the eye see colors? What are the differences between the RGB color theory & the CMYK color theory?
