Partnership for 21st Century Skills Founded in 2002 by the USDE and 8 corporate and organization partners. The Partnership is a national organization that advocates for 21st century readiness for every student. The Partnership consists of 34 corporate & organization partners and 17 State partners. Three Areas of Performance –Implementation: What it takes for a District to begin growing in each specific category. –Transitioning: The District is showing growth in this category, but is not yet at the exceptional level. –Modeling: What a District would look like to be performing exceptionally in this category, and would be a model for other districts to follow.

College & Career Readiness 21 st Century Knowledge and skills that are embedded in high quality Academic and Career, Technical Education programs. Assess individual student interests and needs, and customize an individual learning plan based on students interests and needs. Rigorous college and career ready standards and curriculum that allows students to enter and to advance in College and Career fields. The opportunity to: earn post-secondary recognized certificates; to be a concentrator for a Career Pathway; and earn post-secondary credit. Flexible learning environment with strong comprehensive connections between school, business, community and post- secondary. Educational, career and civic exploration programs so students can navigate the world beyond high school.

Board Recommendation A school’s 2012-13 Accreditation status is not affected by the ESEA waiver. The 2012 QPA Summary Report has each school’s 2012-13 QPA status, based on the 2011 AYP targets. Any school, during the 2012-13 school year with a new Accreditation status (on watch, on improvement), will not be required to submit a new plan to the state. No peer review or improvement plan is required, but districts are highly encouraged to examine data and make plans for improvement based on data. A recommendation will be brought to the board on how the 4 new AMO’s will be used in accrediting schools beginning with the 2013 assessments.
