3 Examples of new Industrial Developments Kenya Agribusiness land that was used for subsistence farming is being used to produce fresh vegetables and flowers for sale in Europe. China Manufacturing China is currently the third most important manufacturing country in the world and makes half of all the world’s clothes, two thirds of the shoes, one third of the mobile phones and half of the microwaves.

4 Impacts of China’s Industrialisation BENEFITS Business boosts tourism Reduction of the number of people in poverty ( 490 million in 1981 to 18 million in 2008) Since Olympic games in 2008 Beijing is now a rising political and financial centre The Chinese government is investing in infrastructure and public transport COSTS Some regions are suffering from overgrowth and can’t house migrant workers Some regions have seen very little investment so there is imbalance Increasing energy demands and worries about the use of coal fired power stations Few international financial services because of corruption in some cities
