How does tourism affect countries like Kenya? Objectives First lesson 1.To identify which descriptions of effects match which photographs. 2.To be able to judge which of these effects are positive and which are negative for Kenya and the Kenyan people. 3.To analyse these effects and divide into those which are social, economic or environmental or all three. Second lesson 1.To assemble the knowledge and understanding developed in lesson 1 ready to answer a mini essay question 2.To test remembering skills with a quiz about the video Key words 1.Maasai Mara 2.Multiplier effect 3.Import 4.Social 5.Environmental 6.Economic 7.Leakage 8.Seasonal 9.Infrastructure 10.Overseas investment Learning to Learn Remembering – There will be a quiz on the Kenya video at the end of lesson 2. Reflectiveness – I can use and develop step by step plans for answering the toughest questions on the exam paper.

These words are really important. They can be subject-specific words such as ‘Medieval’ or words that you should know because they improve your vocabulary. This is what the lesson is about. It is normally in the form of a question that we will seek to answer over the lesson, or a course of lessons. You should take careful note of this and think about it during the lesson.

These objectives show you what you should know by the end of the lesson. They use key words like ‘explain’ or ‘evaluate’ and they get more challenging to stretch your learning. These objectives show you how you will learn. These objectives are developing your ‘Learning Muscles’ and aim to make you into better learners. These skills can be used in all subjects and for the rest of your lives!
