Akmulla, the pride of my nation

The most famous dates of M. Akmulla’s life Akmulla was born in December 1831 His father’s name is Kamaletdin, who was a ‘mulla’ – a religious man His mother’s name is Bibiummugulsum He was born in the village of Tuksanbaevo, which is in the Miyaki district in the Republic of Bashkortostan

1848 - 1850 Akmulla attends the medresse in the village of Meneuztamak 1850 – 1851 Continues his studies in the village of Anyasovo

1851 - 1852 He lived in Tuksanbaevo, got married 1853 – 1854 The famous poet Shamsetdin Zaki taught him in the medresse of Starlebashevo 1853 – 1854 He taught kazakh and bashkir children in Orenburg, Troitsk, Kokchetav

1867 – returns to Tuksanbaevo, writes his famous poem “Letter to Father” 1867 - 1871 He is prisonned in Troitsk His poems “Complaint to Sultan Gubaydulla”, “Isangilde and Batuchu”, “My place is in the prison” appeared

1871 Akmulla visited Gubaydulla Dzigangirov, Gataulla Bayazitov, Muslim intelligentsia in St. Petersbourg Gataulla Bayazitov

1889 Created his work "Elegy in Memory of Shigabutdin Mardzany" Shigabutdin Mardzany, one of the greatest poets- enlighteners of his time

Akmulla died on the 8 th of October in 1895 near Zlatoust and was buried in Muslim cemetery in Miass, Chelyabinsk region

Bashkir people are grateful to their famous poet, sessen. You can see the monument to M.Akmulla in front of the Bashkir State Teachers Training University in Ufa
