2. The Earth is our home Nowadays people worry about the environment because there are some ecological problems on our planet : Air pollution Water pollution Destroying forests Dropping litter Global warming

3. Air pollution It is a phenomenon when factories and plants pollute air releasing poisonous gases into the atmosphere. Car fumes and cigarette smoke also pollute air. It affects people’s health. Polluted air causes people to become ill and even to die.

4. Water pollution Water pollution It is also the result of human activities. Factories and plants release poisonous chemicals into the soil, rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. These poisons can threaten the lives of the people that are living or working nearby. Polluted water puts large populations of people’s health at risk. Polluted water can cause water animals to die.

5. Destroying forests People cut forests down, so the soil can easily be blown away. Even if new forests are planted they can not bring back old forests. They were part of complex ecosystem, the cleaned the air, trapped flood waters and made a home for much wildlife.

6. Dropping litter It is “an all the word problem”. Mostly youngsters drop litter everywhere. Rubbish is a common thing in and around schools, in parks, markets, at bus-stops. Teens drop litter because they think it’s not cool to use bins, because of peer pressure, because of lack of bins or because they eat all the time.

7. Global warming Some scientists say that the Earth’s surface will warm up too much - to a dangerous degree. Factories, plants, cars are making a lot of new gases. Even when we use electricity we help to put greenhouse gases into the air. Weather can change all over the world. Polar icecaps could melt and cause result in flooding.
