1 LOVE YOUR ENEMIES Luke chapter 6 verse 27-36 “Ten things I wish that Jesus hadnt said.” 1. “Forgive...not seven times but seventy times seven.” 2. “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” 3. “To everyone who has, more will be given.” 4. “If anyone comes to me without hating his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even their own life, they cannot be my disciple!” 5. “Unless you deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me, you cannot be my ….disciple.”

2 “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you....Do for others just what you would want them to do for you.” Luke 6 Have you ever had enemies? “It isn’t the parts of the Bible that I don’t understand that bother me. It’s the parts I do understand.” Mark Twain

3 14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them... 17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honourable. 18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.

4 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the L ORD. 20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
