Music Terms Lyrics = the words Refrain = the chorus or repeated part Verse = sections using the same music but different lyrics Vocals = the singing Melody = the main tune of the music Harmony = singing that sounds good with the main tune Instrumentation = the non-singing music Interlude = a part with no singing Major = happy sounding music or chords Minor = sad sounding music or chords Tempo = the speed of a piece of music Style = a type of music (disco, pop, rock, country, hip-hop) Ballad = a song that tells a story, also used for a slow song
