The end of World War 1 -- Great Depression. (mainly the 1920s-1930s) Soldiers came back expecting equality People had money to spend on entertainment Great Depression caused Harlem Renaissance to stop because there was no more entertainment money. Huge amount of jobs in the northern states= mass migration of African-American communities to New York and Chicago Location: mostly in Harlem, New York
