a)Learned to see the Lord in it all! B.Not uncommon for lineage of “handmaidens” to be listed. 1.Verse 11 ends with mention of Isaac.

a)Isaac first stop is Beer-lahai-roi. (1) Sound familiar? (2) Hagar ran there. (a)“Well of the Living One who sees me.” III.Genesis 25:12-18 A. List of the “un-chosen”!

IV. Genesis 25:19-23 A.Sarah’s womb was barren, now Rebekah’s is. 1.Doesn’t mean life will always be easy and without struggles! a) You should expect trials!

V.Genesis 25:24-26 A.birth to twins after 20 years of marriage! 1. “The red hairy guy.” a) Esau = “red or earth colored.” 2.Jacob = “the heal catcher”.

a) The Lord told Rebekah: VI.Genesis 25:27-34 A.Esau the football player and Jacob on chess team. 1.Esau = HUNTER! Jacob = “peaceful man”

2.Esau, killing things Jacob “lives in tents”. a) Isaac and Rebekah choosing “favorites”! (1)Isaac likes Esau! (2)Rebekah likes Jacob. (a) Spiritual purposes being worked!

VII. CONCLUSION A.Esau a man in the flesh! 1.No “long-term” vision. a) Willing to give up what is important! b) Cannot assume the Lord please with Jacob!

(1)Tried to help the Lord out. (2)The Lord would accomplished the same result, without sin! (a)Will cost him his brother for years to come!
