COURSE REQUIREMENTS Have you taken IT:Network:Microsoft Server 1 & 2? If not, you should reconsider your decision to take this course immediately. If you withdraw today, you can receive a full refund. Tomorrow, only 80%.

COURSE OVERVIEW Projects (3) These projects will be done as teams. Teams are subject to change during the semester. Each project builds upon the previous project Each project will incorporate a Microsoft application. Applications will range from what’s in the box to secondary applications

COURSE OVERVIEW Status Reports What was done from Lab Start Between Labs Next Lab Documents who did what and when Must be emailed weekly Current Events Be prepared to discuss a current events article related to industry/networking (see handout) Must be emailed to instructor prior to class to receive credit Each article is worth 5 points Email should include summary of article with hyperlink to the article

GENERAL This is not a step-by-step-read-the-lab-and-press-the-keys course. Your assignments are functional. Get X to work. You will have to rely on what was discussed during lectures You will have to research solutions to the problems you encounter. I will provide random resources and links that may help in accomplishing the tasks however it is up to you to use what you need from those resources.

PROJECTS 5 weeks for each project. Use time wisely Project plans should be created prior to installation Each group will have 2 team members Each team will have 5 systems Hyper-V will be utilized for two server class systems. Windows 7 will be management systems (you may choose Windows 8.1 if you wish). Can create virtual machines through VMWare workstation

PROJECTS Project 1 Infrastructure/AV/Monitoring Summary: 4 weeks Deploy server class machines and VMs Create domain/OU’s/Users per specification Select monitoring application Spiceworks etc. Select managed antivirus solutions Forefront Endpoint manager Avast Trend Micro

PROJECTS Project 2 Exchange 2010 Summary: 5 weeks-ish Fundamentals of Exchange Roles etc Install configure Exchange 2010 Share resource (calendars, mailboxes etc) Configure Outlook WebApp Configure spam filtering Etc

PROJECTS Project 3 SharePoint Summary: 5 weeks Create landing pages for all departments Integrate with Exchange Etc
