The new constitution was also called constitutional monarchy. The king was given four years of power and they had an elected National assembly. The New Constitution

They were the only group that could vote. Males over the age of 25, who had been living in a same place for a year. This group was formed by about 4 million people. Active citizens Active citizens

For voting in the 1 st Stage Elections, they had to pay the equivalent of three labour days, in taxes. For voting in the 2 nd Stage Elections, they had to pay the equivalent of ten labour days, in taxes. To become a deputy of the National Assembly they had to pay the equivalent of 50 day labour in taxes (this was called Marc d’Argent), a silver mark, or 52 livres. The voting stages

They didn`t have the right to vote or own property. They had to be protected by law. They couldn`t contribute to any of the laws. Passive Citizens
