Brief History First electrical motor to be built Michael Faraday first demonstrated the homopolar motor in 1821, at the Royal Institute in London.

Interesting Facts 10,000RPM with the same setup but using a ‘C’ battery. It is called ‘homopolar’ because the direction of the magnetic field is fixed and doesn’t change. A single turn coil means it’s not very practical but still good fun!

How to build your own Magnet direction too. Have screw on negative end to avoid slipping.
