TACIT KNOWLEDGE EXPLICIT KNOWLEDGE Knowledge that can be written down or expressed verbally. Knowledge that resides in the minds of individuals and is surfaced in response to a situation or action.

Absorptive Capacity The ability of a group to recognize the value of new, external information, assimilate it, and apply it to commercial ends is largely a function of the group’s level of prior related knowledge which could include: basic skills shared language knowledge of recent scientific developments technology culture Cohen & Levinthal, (1990)
