Open and Closed loop control theory
2
Level 1 or Open loop control The completion of the movement automatically. These are; well learnt, stored in LTM and retrieved quickly when required. This process needs no feedback or adjustment during the execution of the task.
3
Open loop control occurs at a basket ball free throw for example.
4
EASY PART DONE !
5
Level 2 or Closed loop control Involves some feedback, which gets received via kinaesthetic awareness and muscle spindles Errors are detected and adjustments are made
6
Closed loop control occurs at a rugby side step
7
Well you will be glad to know over half way through now (think how I felt being given this as a homework task)
8
Level 3(still closed loop control) Decision made by receiver based on feedback Performers need this stage to be able to develop there skill level This is why practice should be perfect to improve the speed of this stage
9
Feedback We learn from experience to modify our movements at the time or to store information in the LTM Detection and correction Motivation Reinforcement of learning Three purposes of feedback
